I should have taken pictures before I taped it all up but we were in a hurry to get started on the port maching last night and people sleeping + aircompressor is no good. Amazingly, the bottom (where is was not sanded at all) came out almost as good as the top. I think the secret is to just get the "grain" out of the casting. The rest the bead blasting and power coating takes care of. But, I could not be happier with how it came out. Greg at Quality Powder Coating here in Carrolton did it in "super wet black". He said he spent all day on it to get it perfect. He said one side would bubble and then the other and he had to keep redoing it. It was a pretty penny and he said that color is a specialty color and is supposed to be 125 dollars MORE (they chargegd me for a simple gloss black - don't tell anyone), so I felt a little better about it. Anyway, thank you VERY much for your help, I am VERY excited about how this is all coming together. Its been a long 9 months.... Now, out to the garage to finish the port matching and cleaning all the AL shards, bead media, ect from the inside without screwing up the finish too bad. Wish me luck!
